| Families First stops abuse, neglect and violence against children and families in crisis and returns hope to their lives. Safe Havens: They provide a safe haven to abused and neglected children through adoption, foster care and after school programs. Crisis Counseling: Families First offers accessible crisis counseling to families and individuals on issues such as drug abuse, teen pregnancy & prevention, domestic violence and anger management. Strengthening Communities: Families First works side by side with neighborhood residents to engage in community problem solving on issues such as safe children, safe streets and safe housing. |

| The Georgia Middle School Association, a service organization committed to furthering and improving the level of implementation and education of students in the middle grades, represents middle level educators throughout the state. The association is governed by a steering committee consisting of two representatives from each of the six regions of Georgia, plus representatives from other associations and a group of four trustees who provide historical perspective and support for the efforts of the association. |

| The Southern Regional Education Board was founded in 1948 at the request of Southern leaders in business, education and government; it was the nation’s first compact for education. Over the years SREB has worked to improve every aspect of education — from early childhood education to doctoral degrees and beyond. The Southern Regional Education Board’s Doctoral Scholars Program was developed with support from The Pew Charitable Trusts and The Ford Foundation. It is part of a nationwide initiative, the Compact for Faculty Diversity, to produce more minority Ph.D.s and to encourage them to seek faculty positions. |
